Chartered by the Raleigh Elks Lodge, Boy Scout Troop 104 exists to enhance the character and develop integrity in young men through the principles summarized in the Scout Oath and Law. While in pursuit of this goal, the Troop provides opportunities for Scouts to learn basic Scouting skills, practice the patrol method, and develop leadership skills.
Scout Oath: On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
Scout Law: A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverant
Outdoor ProgramTroop 104 has a very active outdoor program, based on the idea that the best classroom is outside, the best teacher is guided hands-on activities, and lasting memories are built in community on shared experiences.
Who can joinBoys between the ages of 11 and 17, or who have earned the Arrow of Light Award, or have completed the fifth grade, who are learning skills that will help them develop into our leaders of tomorrow. Scouting is basically a game with a purpose of teaching and developing our children. To learn more about scouting, please visit the BSA web site.
How to joinThe requirements are listed on page 4 of the Boy Scout Handbook and are easy to complete. Most cub scouts seeking a troop are already doing these activities as part of their Arrow of Light rank advancement. Any scout leader will be happy to help explain the steps with you.
